Overstay Due To Money Running Out, 2 Foreigners From America Deported By Mataram Immigration
Overstay for 60 days due to running out of money, two foreign nationals (WNA) from the United States (US) with the initials JDD (29) and their lover RYD (30), were detained at the Immigration Office Class I TPI Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) and will be deported to their country.
The two foreign nationals from the United States were arrested by Immigration Intelkam Class I Mataram while in a hotel in the Central Lombok area.
"So his position in Bali, the confession from the person concerned was because he ran out of money. So they couldn't extend the stay permit for 40 days, they just stayed in Bali without any activities," said Head of Intelligence and Security at the Immigration Office Class I TPI Mataram Putu Agus Eka Putra. Thursday 9 November.
For fear of being caught by the Ngurah Rai Immigration office Bali officer, the two foreigners chose to go to Lombok. They thought that the Bali and Lombok Immigration procedures were different so they were believed to be safe.
"Furthermore, they were afraid to go home via Bali, finally they came home via Lombok on the grounds that Lombok immigration and Ngurah Rai Immigration were different. So what they did in Bali was not caught at the Lombok Immigration," he said.
Meanwhile, officers from the Mataram Immigration office are still contacting the American consulate office in Indonesia regarding the repatriation of the two foreigners.
We tried to contact his consulate to ask about his return ticket. So until now his return is not borne by the state, but is borne by the consulate or his family," he explained.
The Immigration Office Class I TPI Mataram is deporting four US citizens from October to November.
"We have also conveyed a notification to the United States Consulate General in Indonesia regarding his citizens who violate immigration regulations in Indonesia," he explained.

The two US foreigners are currently undergoing examination by Inteldakim Section officers at the Immigration Office Class I TPI Mataram. Based on the results of the examination, it was found that these two people had deliberately been in Indonesian territory beyond the limit of the validity period of their residence permit.
"The results of the examination by Inteldakim Section officers, both of them have been overstayed for more than 60 (sixty) days and violated Article 78 Paragraph 3 of the Law. No. 6 of 2011 concerning Immigration and will be subject to deportation and deterrence to enter Indonesian territory," he concluded.
