In Front Of Santri, Former Napiter Nasir Abbas Explains The Doctrine Of Terrorism In Indonesia
CILACAP - In front of the students, former terrorist convict Ustaz Nasir Abbas said he had been involved in acts of terrorism since he was 16 years old, having previously studied religion with one of the terrorist frontmen.
"I was offered free to Afghanistan, however, there I was told to fight. I did not get literacy about the dangers of terrorists, there was only jihad with war," said Nasir Abbas, at the Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) of the Tahfidzul Council, Qur'an As Surkati, Blotongan Sidorejo Salatiga, Thursday 9 November.
Abbas continued that at that time he admitted to repenting after realizing that terrorism was an act that caused widespread fear and damage and was intolerant because he did not accept differences.
"Terrorists are not jihad. They are intolerant people who do not accept differences, the doctrine of terrorism in Indonesia is more likely to exploit targets and play hardline Islamic issues", said Nasir Abbas.
According to Abbas, young people as the next generation of the nation, the role of youth in preventing intolerance, radicalism and terrorism is very much needed.

Nasir Abbas revealed this at an event held by the Public Relations Division of the National Police which was held at the Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes) of the Tahfidzul Qur'an As Surkati Council, Blotongan Sidorejo Salatiga, in order to prevent the development of radicalism and intolerance.
In this activity, a team from the National Police Public Relations Division was also present, led by Kombes DR. Nurul Azizah, accompanied by the Salatiga Police Chief AKBP Aryuni Novitasari.
Meanwhile, the leader of the Tahfidzul Council of the Qur'an As Surkati Ustad Diding Fatuding said, by providing knowledge directly from one of the convicts regarding the dangers of radicalism that are not in accordance with Pancasila and religious teachings, it can damage the joints of democracy of the Indonesian nation.
