Reshuffle Of 19 KRL Trainsets, KCI Disburses IDR 2.2 Trillion
JAKARTA - PT KCI or KAI Commuter and PT INKA (Persero) signed a 19 Electric Railroad Retrofit Cooperation Contract (KRL).
This reframe work contract for KRL Facilities is a follow-up effort in the replacement of 19 series of KRL facilities owned by KAI Commuter in stages starting in 2023 2026. For this retrofit process, KCI disbursed funds of IDR 2.2 trillion.
"The total retrofit is IDR 2.2 trillion, so we will control it. The difference is retrofit with a new one, if the retrofit is similar to new but uses existing and technology for sure," said Anne to the media crew, Monday, November 6.
He added, in the process of retrofitting the KRL facilities, KAI Commuter has also obtained permits from the regulator. An assessment related to the specifications of the retrofitting technology has also been determined through FGD activities with related parties. KAI Commuter will also be ready to send a series of trains that will be carried out in the retrofit process at PT INKA (Persero).
This year, KAI Commuter will carry out a four-series retrofitting process consisting of three series of Metro 05 and a series of Metro 6000 series. Meanwhile, the retrofitting process will take 13-15 months.
Previously, the President Director of KCI, Asdo Artriviyanto, said that the acceleration in the retrofitting process between KAI Commuter and PT INKA (Persero) was continuing.

"KAI Commuter will continue to coordinate with PT INKA for the completion time and delivery of the KRL series and will also continue to coordinate regularly regarding the quality of the retrofitting process, considering that currently the total number of Jabodetabek Commuter Line users is almost 950 thousand people per day," said Asdo.
It is hoped that these acceleration efforts can meet the needs of the number of facilities in service to its users which are predicted to continue to increase in line with the current integration between modes.
"This refraction program for KRL facilities is also our commitment in supporting the Government's program to increase domestic production and import substitution through the Domestic Product User Improvement Program (P3DN)," concluded Asdo.
