East Kalimantan Governor Invites Regional Officials to Focus on Public Services and Not Get Carried Away by Politics
SAMARINDA - Acting Governor of East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) Akmal Malik invited assistants and regional officials within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government to focus on public service tasks without being carried away by political issues.
"We hope that all public services in each regional apparatus will run harmoniously," said Akmal at the Leadership Coordination Meeting (Rakor) within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government in Samarinda, on Saturday.
The coordination meeting was related to the follow-up to President Joko Widodo's direction, at the Coordination Meeting for Acting Regional Heads throughout Indonesia in Jakarta on October 30, 2023.
The seven Presidential directives were conveyed by Acting Governor Akmal Malik at the Coordination Meeting which was attended by the East Kalimantan Provincial Secretary, assistants, staff/experts, and heads of regional apparatus within the East Kalimantan Provincial Government.
"First, the President asked to control inflation by maintaining price stability for basic necessities," said Akmal Malik, starting his remarks, from Jakarta.
Then, a budget is allocated for economic stimulus and social assistance to the community. Also, be alert to the impact of the super El Nino phenomenon.
Apart from that, simplify procedures and governance, especially in terms of licensing services for investors.
"Fifthly, support the KPUD and Bawaslu without any intervention, and ensure that ASN neutrality is maintained," he continued.
Next, immediately resolve the political sparks in anticipation of the 2024 presidential and legislative elections.
Seventh, support government priority programs, such as reducing extreme poverty, eradicating stunting, and downstream industry.
"The President's seven directives were conveyed to avoid miscommunication circulating in various media, while at the same time improving public services. And we are not influenced by news that could lead us into politics," he said.
Apart from President Joko Widodo's directions, Akmal Malik also explained the directions and attention of ministers, such as the Minister of Home Affairs, regarding strategic matters of maximizing public services.
