House And Barak Fires In Palangka Raya, Police Find Out The Cause
PALANGKA RAYA - Police are investigating the burning of a house unit and a three-door barracks in Palangka Raya City, Central Kalimantan (Central Kalimantan). The fire broke out in the early hours of Friday, November 3.
"For now, the Palangka Raya Police together with the Pahandut Police are still investigating the exact cause and the complete chronology of the fire in this area," said Head of the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) of the Palangka Raya Police, Aiptu Teguh Wahyudi in Central Kalimantan, Friday, November 3, confiscated by Antara.
Teguh explained that the fire on Cemara Labat II Beach, Pahandut Seberang Village, Palangka Raya City occurred at around 02.15 WIB, and was successfully extinguished at around 03.15 WIB.
From the testimony of witnesses, the cause of the fire was thought to have come from one of the empty barracks' rooms which quickly spread to other barracks rooms and also the house next to it.
"In the end, it caused as many as three barracks and one house to be burned down, all of which were semi-permanent buildings made of wood and zinc roofs," he said.

He revealed that material losses due to the fire were estimated at Rp. 200 million, while the death toll was declared nil.
"This incident will be investigated, so that later we will really know the cause of the fire. Currently, a number of witnesses have been questioned and the location of the fire has also been given a police line," he said.
He also said that the Palangka Raya Police also constantly appealed to all local people to be aware of the dangers of fires with anything, for example due to an electrical short circuit or due to mosquito medicine.
