Police Arrest 3 Counterfeit Money Dealers In Nabire
Police officers from the Nabire Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Central Papua, arrested three counterfeit money dealers, namely FL (28), SA (28), and MM (22).
Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Nabire Police, AKP Bertu H. E. Anwar said the disclosure began with reports from residents regarding the circulation of counterfeit Rp 50 thousand denominations in the SP B area, Wanggar District.
From this information, an investigation was carried out since Monday (30/10) until finally the three people were arrested.
There are six witnesses who have been questioned, including three kiosk owners.
"After an in-depth examination, the Rp 50 thousand banknote appeared clearly fake from the texture characteristics," explained AKP Bertu.
In carrying out the action, the three perpetrators bought goods by inserting counterfeit money into real money so that it was difficult to detect.

The evidence that was successfully secured included an electric fan and 47 counterfeit notes of Rp. 50 thousand.
The three suspects were subject to multiple articles, namely Law no. 7 of 2011 concerning the circulation of counterfeit money and the Criminal Procedure Code Article 245.
To avoid the circulation of counterfeit money, the public is advised to be more careful when transacting.
"If you find counterfeit money, it is hoped that you will immediately contact the nearest police station so that it can be followed up immediately," hoped Bertu.
