Regarding Houses In Kertanegara, ICW Values There Are 3 Criminal Articles Of Corruption Ready To Snare Firli

JAKARTA - Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) said there are three articles that have the potential to ensnare the Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri regarding the house on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta which was rented by Alex Tirta and occupied by him. The police must move to carry out investigations.

"The rental of a house in Kertanegara for Rp. 650 million a year which Firli allegedly used to rest must be investigated by the Polda Metro Jaya," said ICW researcher Kurnia Ramadhana in a written statement, Wednesday, November 1.

The first article that can be applied is gratification, said Kurnia. This is because Article 12B of the Anti-Corruption Law prohibits state officials from accepting gifts in any form from any party related to their position.

"The question to explore the potential for the imposition of the gratification article is fairly simple: if Firli is not the chairman of the KPK, will he rent out the house," he said.

The second article is bribery. Kurnia said that Polda Metro Jaya investigators could explore an agreement between Firli and the owner of the house.

Finally, extortion is if there is coercion. 'Firli can be charged with Article 12 letter e of the Anti-Corruption Law," said Kurnia.

"So if Firli is determined and the above indications are proven then the public will be the first time in the history of eradicating corruption to see the Chairman of the KPK commit corruption and be sentenced to life imprisonment," he continued.

Previously reported, the house on Jalan Kertanegara, Jakarta, which was originally said to belong to Firli, was in the spotlight. This is because the house is not registered in the State Administrators Wealth Report (LHKPN).
