Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium Becomes The Venue For The Opening Of The U-17 FIFA World Cup, Electricity Supply Is Guaranteed To Be Safe
JAKARTA - The opening of the 2023 U-17 World Cup will be held at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Surabaya on November 10. It was lively, the electricity supply distributed to the stadium was ensured to be safe and stable.
This was confirmed by PT PLN (Persero) East Java Distribution Main Unit (UID Jatim). Based on Agus Kuswardoyo's statement as General Manager of PLN UID East Java, his party will also present Mini Scada Mobile as the center for monitoring of mobile or mobile electrical conditions.
With Mini Scada Mobile, monitoring of the condition of electricity supply can be carried out moving, real time, and closer to customers.
"The presence of Mini Scada Mobile is expected to support national and international events. Especially in the near future to welcome the U-17 World Cup which will be held at the Bung Tomo Stadium (GBT)," said Agus Kuswardoyo in a statement received Tuesday, October 31.
During the 2023 U-17 World Cup from November 10 to December 2, the electricity supply at the GBT Stadium as one of the venues will be fully supplied by PLN. To ensure success, PLN has prepared personnel and equipment to support the reliability of electricity supply.
It is recorded that at least 180 personnel have been prepared. There is also a backup power in the form of UPS as many as 9 units (2,200 kVA) and a generator of 14 units (6,100 kVA).
"PLN provides services without flickering through the Zero Down Time (ZDT) scheme with a 3-layer security scheme and all preparations are 100 percent," explained Adi Priyanto, Director of Distribution of PT PLN (Persero).

Not only at the GBT Stadium as the main venue, PLN has also prepared electrical readiness for three other locations that are the training venues, namely THOR Field, Gelora 10 November Stadium and ABC Field GBT Stadium Complex.
In terms of facilities and field, FIFA as the organizer has made a feasibility statement to Indonesia as the host. But besides that, there are other things that also need to be anticipated as the U-17 World Cup goes on.
"From FIFA, for field facilities and support, we have been given two thumbs up. But don't worry, we will have to anticipate security, congestion, etc. This is an assessment from FIFA itself," said Erick Thohir, Chairman of PSSI.
