Smugglers 19.8 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine At Pekanbaru Airport Are Paid IDR 10 Million
PEKANBARU - The National Narcotics Agency of Riau Province revealed that two smugglers of 19.8 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 19.694 ecstasy pills at the Sultan Syarif Kasim II Airport Cargo Pekanbaru were each paid IDR 10 million.
"Both are residents of West Java and are couriers who are assigned to send these illicit goods. The initial wage was Rp. 10 million," said Head of the Riau BNNP Brigadier General Robinson Siregar as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 31.
The drugs are planned to be sent outside Sumatra but were caught on October 11.
In this case, officers secured two narcotics couriers with the initials DS (36) and DA (33) at one of the boarding houses on Jalan Letkol Syariefudin Syarif, Marpoyan Damai District, Pekanbaru.
Robinson explained that the two suspects were tasked with delivering goods to Banjarmasin and Makassar through an expedition service on the orders of a dealer who is currently still being chased.
This arrest began with an attempt to smuggle 4 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine which was thwarted by the Avsec of Pekanbaru SSK II Airport. Then after being developed, the two suspects were arrested in a boarding room.
When searched, officers again found 19.818 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 19.694 ecstasy pills packaged in cosmetic packaging. According to the two confessions, they were ordered by a dealer with the initials A (buron) known from H (buron) to pick up goods and send them via expedition services.

"The suspect's confession is the second time they have sent the goods. First they claimed to have succeeded in sending them to Makassar," added Robinson.
As a result of his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 114 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (2) in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph (1) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics with a threat of 20 years in prison.
