Commemoration Of The Duo Of The Former Capello And Sacchi Coach For The Rise Of Milan Against Napoli
JAKARTA - A warning to AC Milan. The successive defeat against Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain was a warning to Milan. Former Milan coach duo Fabio Capello and Arrigo Sacchi agreed that coach Stefano Pioli had to make improvements. Moreover, Milan played a crucial match against Napoli in the Italian Serie A competition at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, Monday, October 30 in the morning WIB.
Milan lost 1-0 to Juve while playing at home. This defeat was a blow to Milan because they failed to find Inter Milan at the top.
The poor result made the Rossoneri stuck in second place with 21 points adrift of Inter. Meanwhile, Juve, who are in third place with 20 points, began to overshadow them.
Milan failed to break the bad trend because they then lost again in the Champions League. A clear defeat was worse because the Rossoneri were eliminated by PSG 3-0 through goals from Kylian Mbappe, Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-in in Paris. This is the first defeat and Milan have not even won European competition.
This poor achievement is a signal that Pioli must immediately make improvements. According to Capello, Milan's defeat was inseparable from the front-sector red report card which relies heavily on veteran striker Olivier Giroud.
Of the last four matches in various competitions, Milan has scored only one goal. Ironically, the only Milan goal was produced by Christian Pulisic who entered as a substitute in the match against Genoa.
In Capello's analysis, Milan relied too much on Giroud. In addition, their attacks also depend on the left sector with left-backs Theo Hernandez and Rafael Leao.
"This is a problem [Milan]. They hope for Giroud and don't seem to have any other alternatives. Milan also relies too much on the left sector. They rely on left-wing players from Hernandez and Rafael's play," Capello said.
Dependence on Giroud is Milan's weakness as when playing an away match against PSG. According to him, Milan players could never enter the opponent's penalty area.
"In Paris, Milan has never entered the penalty area. Pulisic had his only chance when he faced the goalkeeper. But he made the wrong decision. Instead of scoring an easy goal, he gave the ball to Giroud," Capello said twice in different years dealing with Milan.
Capello started his coach's career by winning AC Milan Primavera or Milan's junior team. He briefly became a caretaker coach before coaching the senior team to replace Sacchi from 1991 to 1996.
Capello won various trophies, Italian Serie A four times, Italian Supercoppa once, Champions League once and UEFA Super Cup also once.
The former England manager left Milan in 1996 to coach Real Madrid. The following year or 1997, he returned to Milan. Only, Capello has handled his former club for one season only.
Meanwhile, Sacchi highlighted Milan's weak defense more. When they lost players like Malick Thiaw's red card against Juve. According to him, the back row was not ready to lose players.
"They seem to be playing alone. There is no cooperation and mutual support. When Thiaw is shown a red card in the match against Juve, no player closes the gap left by Thiaw. When you don't play with the zone system, it means you play one on one," said Sacchi.
Sacchi suggested the need for Pioli or players to ask Milan legend Franco Baresi for input on how to regulate the back sector.
"While Franco Baresi is still at the club [as the Vice President of Honor Milan], they should ask him. How to deal with such a situation. Because there is no coordination among the defenders. No one has double marking. And most importantly, there is no mutual respect," said Sacchi, who is reliable in building the team's defense sector during the deal with Milan.

"Pioli must work hard to fix the team and it must start from the defense sector. The most important thing is defenders. How do they occupy the position properly," said Sacchi, who also handled two terms (1987-1991 and 1996-1997).
Sacchi also won many trophies and became the ruler of Europe. He once brought Milan to the Scudetto. Under him, Milan won the Champions League twice twice, UEFA Super Cup twice and Club Club World Cups too.
Capello and Sacchi felt the need to provide input as well as a warning to Milan and Pioli because the team faced a crucial match. Napoli is definitely not a light opponent to Milan. They also showed a good trend.
If you lose to Napoli, Milan will suffer even worse. This is something to watch out for because Milan hopes to maintain competition with Inter.
