Vice President's Message To Santri: Prophet's Steps Are Improved, Not Power
BALIKPAPAN - Vice President (Wapres) Ma'ruf Amin gave three important messages while attending the Commemoration of Santri Day 2023 and National Gathering (Silatnas) VII Indonesian Agribusiness Santri Contacts (Konsain) at the Syaichona Cholil Islamic Boarding School Hall, Balikpapan.
The first message so that the students do not shift from their nature, namely always making improvements. The improvements include all aspects of life and faith in Allah SWT.
"The prophet's steps are improvement, not power," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 24.
As the successors of the ulama, students must take steps to improve, not power.
"Because of what, because power is God's step. So the matter of power is God's step, not us. So take steps to change as much as we can," said the Vice President.
The Vice President's second message is for the students to always be guardians of the country. Because love for the homeland is part of faith.
The Vice President then reviewed the efforts of the students and scholars from the era before independence to Indonesia's independence.
"The jihad fatwa on October 22, 2045 is the beginning of the birth of Heroes' Day on November 10. The spirit of jihad is to expel the invaders," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.
That's why, he said, students must guard the Republic of Indonesia. The Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia's fixed price is the national consensus and this agreement must not be violated.
"Who fights this will face the students throughout Indonesia," he explained.
Vice President Ma'ruf Amin's third message so that students must be able to become earth's makers and provide prosperity for the community and Indonesia at large.
"Santri harus bisa menjadi pengukmur bumi. Semua kegiatan ekonomi itu keynya ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi agar bisa berkembang," sarannya.
"Alhamdulillah, now the students have moved. This is the answer, that the students are not silent, but are trying to prosper Indonesia. There are palm oil students, there are cassava students. This is also part of protecting the country. This is important, especially now that the food crisis is starting," said the former chairman of the Central MUI.
