"We are disappointed that instead of working productively with companies in the industry to create clear and age-appropriate standards for many applications used by teens, the attorneys general chose this path without indicating what action the states would take," a Meta spokesperson said.
The states of Connecticut and Vermont will discuss the lawsuit on Tuesday but do not say which companies are involved. Tennessee and Virginia plan to hold a press conference on Meta or Big Tech.
