Meth Worth Half A Billion Destroyed By Banjarmasin Police
The ranks of the Narcotics Unit of the Banjarmasin Police, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) destroyed evidence of methamphetamine from the arrest of 18 suspects with a total weight of around 382.64 grams or worth half a billion rupiah.
"Based on the provisions of the Banjarmasin District Attorney's Office, we are obliged to destroy narcotics evidence at least once per month," said Head of Bin Ops (KBO) of the Banjarmasin Police Narcotics Unit, Ipda Supriadi, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 20.
Supriadi said that all the evidence of methamphetamine was confiscated for the period September to October 2023.
"We rescued about 5,740 people from the dangers of illicit narcotics trafficking in Banjarmasin, if the evidence of methamphetamine reached half a billion, to be precise Rp535,696,000," he said.
He revealed that out of a total of 18 suspects, there was one case that stood out more than one suspect with the initials SB with a weight of 311.23 grams of methamphetamine. Against SB, evidence was confiscated on Tuesday.
Supriadi explained that the confiscated 382.64 grams of crystal methamphetamine was the result of the 17 reports, and if it was estimated per gram it could be used up to 15 people.
The destruction of evidence of methamphetamine involved the ranks of the Banjarmasin Police Narcotics Unit, representatives from the Banjarmasin District Attorney, representatives from the Banjarmasin District Court, representatives from one of the Legal Aid Institutions (LBH) in Banjarmasin, representatives journalists, and witnessed by the suspects.

Meanwhile, the destruction was carried out by mixing all the evidence of methamphetamine into a determinant solution and being dredged evenly, then the liquid was thrown into the toilet.
Supriadi said the suspects were charged with Article 112 paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 114 paragraph 2 and Article 132 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
