Ambitious Kia Target In Electric Vehicle Segment, Compete With Tesla To BYD
JAKARTA - Kia is very ambitious in the electric vehicle segment to compete with Tesla and BYD, who are now the main leaders.
At the EV Day event, in Seoul, South Korea, Kia published more plans related to electrification in the future in the country itself, Asia to Europe, quoted from the InsideEV page, Wednesday, October 18.
It's no secret that Kia will be one of the most serious players in electric vehicle matters. Because several factories spread across countries will focus on producing electric vehicles, with South Korea being the main center that will bring passenger cars to commercial.
"Our main goal is to give unit values to everyone," said Kia President, Ho Sung Song.
He further explained Kia's strategy for various markets, for example Europe where the South Korean brand will focus on small and medium-sized electric vehicles. Meanwhile, medium and large electric vehicles will focus on local and North American markets.

As is known, recently Kia officially introduced EV5 and the South Korean producer are also preparing several other line-ups, namely EV3 and EV4. This means that the line of electric cars belonging to Kia is getting more complete.
"In particular, EV5 adds to the momentum that is urgently needed for the popularity of electric vehicles on a large scale," said Spencer Cho, head of the Kia Global Business Planning unit.
The car is designed to compete for an increasingly popular crossover segment, and can be an attractive choice for global automotive lovers.
