Reveals 5 Potential Disturbances In Kamtibmas Ahead Of The Election, Walkot Bogor Bima Arya Asks For Forkopimda Mitigation
BOGOR - Mayor of Bogor, West Java Bima Arya Sugiarto said there were five potential disturbances in security and public order (Kamtibmas) ahead of the 2024 general election and regional head elections (Pilkada).
Bima Arya during a coordination meeting with the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda) at the Bogor City Police Headquarters, Monday, said the five points reflected on the elections that had taken place in 2019.
"There are at least five causes of potential conflict problems during political contestation. From the most frequent, to the most disturbing kamtibmas," Bima said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 16.
Bima detailed that the potential for disturbances in Kamtibmas that need to be coordinated always by election organizers and Forkopimda are misunderstandings, rules that lead to multiple interpretations, the inability of election organizers, the side of the apparatus and the scenario of confusion.
Of the five potential election conflicts, said Bima, the experience of the 2019 election in Bogor City that occurred was the first point, namely misunderstanding.
The potential conflict can be overcome by communicating and coordinating to straighten out understanding between political party officials or legislative candidates and candidates for mayor and deputy mayor.
"For example, there were billboards falling, the party whose billboards fell thought that another party had brought down, so far, these things have happened in Bogor City and are finished with communication and coordination," said Bima.
Meanwhile, Bima said, the second point regarding the multiinterpretation rules needs to be clarified by the General Election Commission (KPU) of Bogor City. For example, at this time it is not the campaign period, so the invitation sentences are not allowed.

However, the limit of the invitation sentence needs to be clarified so as not to cause conflict.
The third point is about the inability of the organizers, such as during the election stage until voting day, lack of readiness of officers, problems with logistics distribution and others, causing conflict.
Furthermore, the fourth point in the potential conflict can arise from the partiality of the apparatus and the fifth is a screening scenario which when it occurs will be difficult to handle.
"Of the five points, we are grateful that Bogor City only has the first point and can be handled together, Forkopimda often gathers," he said.
