It Turns Out That The Chief Justice Of The Constitutional Court Anwar Usman Did Not Participate In The Rejection Of The Lawsuit For The Age Limit Of The Presidential And Vice Presidential Candidates
JAKARTA - The Constitutional Court (MK) rejected a judicial review lawsuit regarding the age limit for presidential and vice-presidential candidates of at least 40 years in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning Elections.
Ternyata, dalam rapat permusyawaran hakim MK yang digelar sebelum pembacaan putusan, Ketua MK Anwar Usman tak ikut memutuskan ketiga perkara yang semuanya ditolak tersebut.
There is no name Anwar Usman who is President Joko Widodo's brother-in-law in the judge's deliberation meeting because it was stated that the meeting was chaired by one of the Constitutional Court judges.
However, Anwar Usman was present at the verdict reading session today.
"Similarly decided in the Hakim Consultative Meeting by eight Constitutional Justices, namely Saldi Isra as Chairman concurrently Member, Arief Hidayat, Manahan MP Sitompul, Wahiduddin Adams, Suhartoyo, Enny Nurbaningsih, Daniel Yusmic P. Foekh, and M. Guntur Hamzah, respectively as Members, on Tuesday 19 September 2023 which was pronounced in the Plenary Session of the Constitutional Court open to the public on Monday, October 16, 2023," explained Anwar Usman when reading the verdict in the Court building courtroom, Monday, October 16.

So far, there have been three material test cases regarding the age limit of the presidential and vice-presidential candidates that have been decided by the Constitutional Court. Among them are case number 29/PUU-XXI/2023 proposed by PSI by asking for the minimum age limit for the presidential and vice-presidential candidates to be reduced to 35 years.
Then case number 51/PUU-XXI/2023 proposed by the Garuda Party which asks for additional experience alternatives as state administrators as a condition in addition to the minimum age of 40 years. Then, case number 55/PUU-XXI/2023, proposed by the Mayor of Bukittinggi Erman Safar et al with the same petitum as Garuda.
