Julian Nagelsmann's Gemilang Debut, Germany Conquered The United States

JAKARTA - Germany is entering a new era with coach Julian Nagelsman. He proved his performance by bringing Germany to a 3-1 win over the United States in a test match at the Pratt & Whitney Stadium, Connecticut, Sunday, October 15 in the morning WIB. This is Nagelsman's impressive debut.

Nagelsman has only been appointed as Germany's new coach to replace Hansi Flick who was dismissed in September 2023.

Bad results in a series of 17 trials because they only won four times made Flick's performance evaluated. The peak was when Die Mannschaft lost 4-1 to Japan.

Flick was finally fired and replaced by Nagelsman who was still unemployed at the time. Previously, Nagelsman also replaced Flick as Bayern Munich coach.

However, he was later dismissed despite bringing Bayern to success. While unemployed, Nagelsman actually got offers at various clubs. Starting from Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Tottenham Hotspur. Even Real Madrid had time to target Nagelsman.

But he turned down all the offers until finally Nagelsman became the coach of the German national team. Interestingly, the position is said to be handed over to Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp.

Even Kloop was allowed to continue to deal with Liverpool despite being German coach. But Klopp refused and wanted to fully focus on Liverpool.

Germany, which acts as the host of Euro 2024, will definitely qualify and not participate in the qualifying round. This is what makes the team have to do many trials in preparation for tournaments at home.

If the results of the trial disappoint, Germany should also rethink the team's readiness. Nagelsman also seemed to fulfill the expectations

The 36-year-old coach also started his duties with satisfactory results. Even though he only had three weeks to prepare the team. In the first trial, he immediately lowered the best squad.

In that match, Germany fell behind when Christian Pulisic scored from close range. This goal from AC Milan player was created in the 27th minute.

Previously, he had also broken into the German goal which was guarded by Marc-Andre ter Stegen. It's just that his goal was disallowed because he was in an offside position.

The US advantage did not last long. In the 39th minute, midfielder Ilkay Gundogan successfully equalized. The goal was created through Leroy Sane's neat collaboration with Gundogan.

This collaboration ended with Gundogan's shot which beat goalkeeper Matt Turner. The score changed to 1-1 and lasted until the end of the first half.

In the second half, Germany played more aggressively. As a result, they took the lead when the Niclas Fullkrug striker who used Robin Gosens' pass broke into the US goal in the 58th minute.

Furthermore, Fullkrug played a role in the process of creating the third goal to strengthen Germany's victory.

The Dortmund striker managed to control the wild ball or rebound which then released a cross in front of the goal. Jamal Musiala immediately grabbed the opportunity by inserting the ball into the net which was scored in the 61st minute.

The score is 3-1 for Germany. No more goals were created and the score did not change until the end of the match. This victory is a valuable capital for Germany, which is again testing against Mexico in Philadelphia, next Wednesday.
