Jokowi Leads The AIS Forum 2023 Summit In Bali Today
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will chair the 1st Summit of Island and Islands countries or Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Forum 2023 this morning Wednesday (11/10/2023), at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center (BNDCC), Badung Regency, Bali.
The AIS Forum 2023 1st Summit agenda will begin with a photo with the delegates who attend, then continued the opening and delivery of a speech by Jokowi at 09.45 WITA.
Furthermore, the 1st AIS Forum 2023 Summit will produce Leaders' Declaration of The Archipelagic and Island States Forum 2023.
This declaration states the commitment of island and archipelago countries to work together to address joint problems such as climate change, blue economy development, marine pollution, and marine management to achieve prosperity and sustainability for future generations.
The 1st AIS Forum 2023 Summit will be closed with a joint lunch, which is scheduled to start at 12.30 WITA.
Five heads of state and government will attend in person at the 1st AIS Forum 2023 Summit, namely, President of the Micronesian Federation, David Panuelo, Prime Minister of Niue, Dalton Tagelolagi, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Sao Tome and Principal Patrice Trovoada, Prime Minister of Agriculture Kausea Natano, and Prime Minister of Timor-Leste Xana Gusm.
In addition, the 1st AIS Forum 2023 Summit was also attended by the Deputy Prime Ministers of Fiji and Tonga, as well as ministers from the Maldives, Marshall Islands, Palau, Seychelles, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, and Papua New Guinea.

Meanwhile, delegates from Cabo Verde, New Zealand, and Madagascar were also present, led by deputy ministerial officials. Meanwhile, Ireland, Japan, Cyprus, Samoa, Malta, England, Saint Lucia, Cook Islands, the Philippines, Suriname, and Bahrain, sent their ambassadors.
Also attending the 1st AIS Forum 2023 Summit, representatives of four international organizations, namely the Melanesia State Cooperation Group (MSG), the Pacific Archipelago State Forum (PIF), the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), and the United Nations Development Program Agency or better known as UNDP.
