Many MSME Made In Indonesia Products Are Interested In China
JAKARTA - The flood of cheap imported products from China in the country has had a major impact on micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). On the other hand, Indonesian MSME products are quite in demand by the people of China.
This was revealed by the Special Staff of the Minister of SOEs Arya Sinulingga, in the BNI Webinar Lifting MSMEs Go Global, Friday, October 6.
Arya said, Indonesian MSME products participated in the China ASEAN Expo 2023 event. During the exhibition, from September 16 to 19, 2023, more than 100,000 MSME products were sold with a transaction value of IDR 261,937,939.
Based on data from Arya, the MSMEs participating in the exhibition were 49 MSMEs assisted by SOEs with 563 products on display.
"So this is what we push there, so there are spaces in global go that we do see the heavy fighting but there is still room to go there," said Arya.
According to Arya, many Indonesian native products cannot be imitated by small manufacturers in China. Like songket cloth, to Indonesian oil. Arya thinks this can be an opportunity for MSMEs.
"Indeed, in China this is a challenge in itself, but that doesn't mean we don't have room for us to fight because there are so many of our original products that they can't possibly imitate, songket, it's impossible for them to imitate in China, it's impossible," he said.
Previously, it was reported that Indonesian products were again the prima donna at the international exhibition The 20th China-ASEAN EXPO (CAEXPO) which was held at the Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center (NICEC), Nanning, China, by reaping a potential transaction of IDR 106.45 billion.
This exhibition was held in a hybrid manner, namely offline from 16 to 19 September 2023 and online until September 2024 through the CAEXPO platform.
Director General of National Export Development Didi Sumedi said the transaction potential consisted of direct sales of Rp1.69 billion. Then the rest is a trade contract of Rp104.77 billion.

The value of this transaction proves that Indonesian products are able to compete in the midst of the onslaught of other countries in the global market. This is also evidence of global purchasing power recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, transaction value has the potential to increase because there are still buyers who will follow up on several purchase transactions outside the exhibition," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, September 27.
During the exhibition, processed food became Indonesia's prima donna product and took first place in the acquisition of transactions at CAEXPO 2023 with a value of Rp. 96.10 billion or 90.28 percent of the total transactions.
Other Indonesian products that managed to attract buyers' attention included consumption goods amounting to Rp8.95 million (8.41 percent), fashion and accessories of Rp706.74 million (0.66 percent), furniture of Rp358.52 million (0.34 percent), and home decorations of Rp333.30 million (0.31 percent).
