Police Reveal Cause Of Work Accident That Killed 1 Person In South Tangerang

TANGERANG - The police revealed the cause of the work accident that occurred at the Villa Bintaro Regency housing complex, Pondok Aren, South Tangerang on Friday, October 6 at around 10.30 WIB.

The Head of Pondok Aren Police, Kompol Bambang Askar Sodiq, suspected that the cause of the accident was due to the vibration of heavy equipment excavators which resulted in the wall collapsing.

"While we suspect it was caused by a vibration from the excavator that caused the wall above to collapse and hit the workers below," said Bambang in a short message, Friday, October 6.

Bambang explained, actually there were 4 people who were victims of the rubble and one person died. However, when his friend was lifting the victim, he fell so he was injured.

"So at the TKP (the crime scene) there were 4 victims, 1 died and 3 were injured. Meanwhile, there was 1 person who died when the victim died in a pick-up car who was going to take him to the hospital," he said.

"So he only had abrasions, not a larena normalization incident, but because he fell while lifting the victim to the car," he continued.

It was explained that the incident began when the victims were working on a normalization project at that time.

"The working program for the normalization of the Serua River is working on assembling iron for chicken pastries for the foundation of the cor on the edge of the Serua River," he said.

At the same time, there were workers who dug up the river using an excavator. Allegedly due to the excavator's vibration, the wall above it collapsed and hit the victim.

"While we suspect it was caused by vibrations from the excavator causing the wall above to collapse that hit the workers below," he said.

Meanwhile, the injured victims have been taken to hospital for treatment. Police are also still investigating further this incident.

"After that the victims or workers were taken to the Bakti Asih Ciledug Hospital," he concluded.
