Defend ID Denies Three State-Owned Enterprises Exporting Weapons To Myanmar
JAKARTA - The Defense Industry BUMN Holding (Defend ID) has denied exporting weapons products to Myanmar after February 1, 2021.
This is in line with the resolution of the UN General Assembly number 75/287 which prohibits the supply of weapons to Myanmar.
Defend ID through PT Len Industri (Persero) as the holding company and consisting of PT Dahana, PT Pindad, PT Dirgantara Indonesia, and PT PAL Indonesia, fully supports UN resolutions in efforts to stop violence in Myanmar.
Defend ID emphasized that PT Pindad had never exported to Myanmar after the UN DK appeal on February 1, 2021.
"We make sure that PT Pindad does not carry out export activities for defense and security products to Myanmar, especially after the UN DK appeal on February 1, 2021 regarding violence in Myanmar," read an official statement received by VOI, Wednesday, October 4.
Defend ID revealed that export activities to Myanmar were carried out in 2016 in the form of ammunition products for sports specifications for Myanmar's participation in the 2016 ASEAN Armies Rifle Meet (AARM) shooting competition.

This defense BUMN holding also ensures that PTDI and PT PAL do not have cooperation in selling products to Myanmar.
"We can say that there is no cooperation or sale of defense and security products from the two companies to Myanmar," he concluded.
