Firmly Investigating SOE Pension Funds, Islamic Boarding School Students Say Erick Is Not Just Rhetoric
JAKARTA - The move by the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir to report the Pension Fund (Dapen) to the Attorney General's Office (AGO) has received support from various parties. One of them came from students in Sidoarjo, East Java.
Bumi Shalawat Islamic Boarding School student, Sidoarjo, Naufal Arsy said this step shows that Erick's clean-up agenda is not just rhetoric, but really fixes the governance of the company or good corporate governance.
"Mr. Erick Thohir believes in the institutional system. He audited the audit conducted by Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) and then handed it over to the AGO to show Mr. Erick is working with the system even though the commitment to enforce corruption must be shown by providing an example of a leader's good practice to the public", Naufal said on Tuesday, October 3.
The chairman of HIPMI ITS said that Erick has a strong commitment to maintaining hope for Indonesia without corruption. Every time he sees this nation, said Naufal, young people are always faced with trust issues.
"How do you want to trust the country if corrupt practices still occur. Sir Erick hopes that anti-corruption is still being carried out, not just rhetoric or nonsense", said Naufal.
Naufal said that clean SOEs are the beginning of the bright future of Indonesia's industry and economy. According to Naufal, many young people are now involved in the business world.

Naufal said that the younger generation needs a system that is free from corruption because every business they run there is something that the state must take in the form of taxes and levies.
"The improvement in SOE financial governance makes them believe in state institutions that the money they set aside from their business transactions is managed honestly", said Naufal.
