Denies Discussing Politics In Saudi Arabia's Anniversary, Gerindra Is Setting Prabowo-Megawati's Official Meeting Time

Secretary General of the Gerindra Party Ahmad Muzani denied the political conversation between Gerindra Chairman Prabowo Subianto and PDI-P Chairman (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri during a table at the 93rd National Day of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Monday, September 25 evening. Muzani dismissed if the second meeting strengthened the two axis signal in the upcoming presidential election (pilpres).

"Yes, yesterday on Saudi Arabia's national birthday, he sat at the same table. But that's an event on the anniversary of the Arab kingdom, so that political talks, let alone very seriously, are not being discussed in that place," said Muzani in South Jakarta, Wednesday, September 27. According to Muzani, it is a natural and good thing if two national figures greet each other ahead of the election. This atmosphere, he said, provides coolness for a democratic party that will last soon. "But sitting at the same table, greeting each other is a sign that our leaders often meet, frequently exchange views, ask each other about health and so on. That is a good sign for unity, for the sustainability of our upcoming democracy," said Muzani.

Muzani then revealed that Gerindra and PDIP will hold an official meeting in the near future. Currently, he said, his party is looking for a suitable time to schedule a meeting between Prabowo and Megawati.

"Yes, Mr. Prabowo's time is being matched with Mrs. Mega. We are matching the time because you know that Mrs. Mega is also very busy, Mr. Prabowo is also busy with an agenda so that it is sought for a timely fit. Hopefully, it won't take too long," said Muzani.
