4 Meter Python Mangsa 7 Chickens Residents Evacuated By South Lampung Firefighters
LAMPUNG - The Fire and Rescue Service (Damkarmat) of South Lampung Regency evacuated a four-meter-long snake from a livestock cage belonging to a resident of Jatimulyo Village, Jatiagung District.
Head of the Fire Department at the South Lampung Damkarmat Service, Rully Fikriansyah, said the python had preyed on seven chickens.
"We have evacuated a 4 meter python at a laying hen farm owned by a resident named Suprawi," said Rully when confirmed, Tuesday, September 26, by Antara.
After that, the South Lampung Damkar rescue team immediately went to the scene for the arrest and evacuation of the snake.
"On September 25, 2023 at 14.00 WIB, the evacuation was completed at 14.30 WIB, the address was Jalan Tiara Garden RT05 Dusun 1 Jatimulyo Village, Jatiagung District, South Lampung Regency," he said.
He explained that the chronology of the incident began when the owner of the livestock coop would feed his livestock, then saw that a large snake was in the cage.
"The owner of Suprawi's laying chicken farm saw a python in a livestock cage that had eaten seven chickens," he said.

Then the owner of the cage reported to Kadus 1 Jatimulyo named Suwanto and continued the Jatiagung post.
"The Jatiagung fire team received the report and immediately rushed to the scene," he said.
He said, after the python was secured, officers took and released the snake to a place far from residential areas.
Due to this incident, one resident said that his party was worried about the snake being found, with such a size, it is likely that there are still many young snakes roaming around.
Ruly appealed to residents to immediately report to the Fire Station if they found pythons or other similar things that could endanger residents in the neighborhood.
"Our officers have expertise and are ready to help evacuate venomous animals, such as snakes. Residents should not evacuate themselves, because they are very dangerous and can even threaten their lives," he said again.
