Prosecutors Throw Corruption Convict Padang-Sicincin Toll Road To Pariaman Prison
The Executive Team of the Pariaman District Attorney's Office (Kejari), West Sumatra (West Sumatra) executed another convict in a corruption case in the procurement of the Padang-Sicincin toll road which has permanent legal force (inkrah).
The convict who was executed by the Prosecutor's team was the former Head of the Padangpariaman Regency Environment Agency on behalf of Yuniswan.
"Today the Pariaman Kejari has executed the convict on behalf of Yuniswan. The execution was carried out based on the cassation decision of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia which has been signed," said Head of the Legal Information Section of the West Sumatra Prosecutor's Office Farouk Faharozi in Padang as reported by ANTARA, Monday, September 25.
The convict who came using a wheelchair was executed at the Class II B Pariaman Correctional Institution (Lapas) to serve his sentence.
Based on the decision of the Supreme Court, Yuniswan was sentenced to six years in prison and a fine of Rp. 200 million, subsidiary to two months in prison.
"Before being executed, the convict had undergone a medical test first, after that he was immediately taken to the Class II B Pariaman Prison," said Farouk.
The prosecutor's office initially sent a summons to Yuniswan to come on Friday, September 22, 2023, but the person concerned was not present.
A few days later, he said, finally Yuniswan came himself with good faith to fulfill the summons from the prosecutor's office on Monday (25/9).
Farouk said Yuniswan was one of the thirteen convicts in the corruption case in the procurement of the Padang-Sicincin toll road for the 2020 fiscal year.
Before executing Yuniswan, he said, the Prosecutor's Office had first executed ten inmates in the same case.

The initial executions were carried out on Jumadi and Upik Suryati, who are employees of the West Sumatra National Land Agency (BPN) on July 17, 2023.
After that, the Prosecutor's Office again executed the convict on behalf of Ricki Novaldi, who has a background as Head of Task Force B in the toll road land acquisition project.
"The last execution was carried out on August 8 against seven convicts, they came after we sent a second summons," he explained.
The seven convicts are Raymon Fernandes, Sadri Yuliansyah, Kaidir, Syamsul Bahri alias Latuih, Nazaruddin, Buyuang Kenek, and Amir Hosen. They were convicted by the Supreme Court and sentenced to six years.
The convicts were caught in the corruption case of the Padang-Sicincin 2020 toll road construction project, when the state prepared money as compensation for land affected by development.
One of the affected areas is the Biodiversity Park (HEHATI) in Parik Malintang, Padang Pariaman Regency, where compensation money is received by each person.
After further investigation by the prosecutor's office, it turned out that Taman KEHATI's status was included in regional assets and was recorded in the assets sector of the Padangpariaman Regional Financial Management Agency, causing state losses of Rp. 27,460 billion.
The loss arose because the compensation money for toll land that had been disbursed by the state was illegally claimed by people who were not entitled to receive compensation.
All of the defendants were initially released by the Corruption Court at the Padang District Court, then the Prosecutor filed an appeal to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia regarding the decision.
