Julian Nagelsmann Gets Closer To The Seat Of The German National Team Coach
JAKARTA - The issue of Julian Nagelsmann being the coach of the German national team is getting stronger. Both parties are said to have had a serious meeting.
A number of names emerged as candidates for the German national team coach after Hansi Flick was sacked. One of the most widely known is Nagelsmann.
The 36-year-old tactician is still unemployed after Bayern's sacking last season.
Reporting from Bild, the German Football Federation (DFB) and Nagelsmann have agreed to cooperate verbally. However, the final contract still has to finalize the final details.
"There was the first meeting between DFB President Bernd Neuendorf and Rudi Voeller with Julian Nagelsmann. We are in good talks," one of the unnamed DFB officials told Bild.
Nagelsmann will reportedly be tied to a contract until the 2024 European Cup. The coach is estimated to receive a monthly salary of 400 thousand euros (around Rp. 6.5 billion).
Nagelsmann was also allowed to bring his assistant to Der Panzer if he accepted the offer. Some of the names reportedly participated as Nagelsmann's deputies are Benjamin Gluck and Xaver Zembrod.
Nagelsmann will soon be announced as a German coach when the contract finalization has been reached. He will later lead Leroy Sane et al in the October trial match.
The German national team will meet the United States on October 15 and Mexico 18 October. In November they will meet neighboring Austria.
