21 Villages In Bireuen Aceh Flooded, 1,874 Affected People
ACEH - The Aceh Disaster Management Agency (BPBA) stated that floods were still inundating a number of areas in Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province. The flood was triggered by high rain intensity.
BPBA Chief Executive Ilyas said the flood, which began on Tuesday, September 19, caused 21 gamongs or villages to be affected.

He explained that flooding in Bireuen was triggered by high rainfall, causing the water discharge from Paya Si Kameng, Gampong Tanjung Seulamat, Peudada, to overflow into residential areas.
Temporary data on the victims affected by the flood were 1,874 people in 512 families (KK). BPBD Bireuen officers are still collecting data on affected victims in two sub-districts.

The affected areas include Jeumpa District, namely Gampong Mon Mane, Abeuk Usong, Blang Seupeung, Paloh Seulimeng, Paloh Lawang, Teupok Tunong, Teupok Baro and Dayah Mon Ara.
Meanwhile, in Peudada District, covering Gampong Tanjung Seulamat, Alue Sijuk, Dayah Mon Ar, Tgk Dibaroh, Blang Bati, Blang Matang, Hagu, Meunasah Alue, Blang Rangkuluh, Cot Laot, Cot Kruet, Pinto Rimba and Gampong Mulia.
The water level in Jeumpa and Peudada sub-districts is between 20-40 centimeters. Even in Gampong Tanjung Seulamat, Peudada, the water level that submerged residents' houses reached about 1 meter.
In addition to submerging residents' houses, he said, the flood also caused a house unit in Gampong Abeuk Usong, Jeumpadan Gampong Mulia, Peudada which was threatened with collapse due to eroded flooding.
"So far, there have been no casualties and residents have fled in this flood incident," said Ilyas.
