Construction Of Relocation Areas For Residents Of Pulau Rempang Needs A Budget Of IDR 1.6 Trillion

JAKARTA - BP Batam revealed the budget needed to build a relocation area for residents of Pulau Rempang, in Kitchen Tiga amounting to Rp1.6 trillion.

The budget is to build residential houses and other facilities.

For your information, the relocation of residents of Pulau Rempang, Batam, Riau Islands is related to the construction of the National Strategic Project (PSN) Rempang Eco City.

Head of BP Batam and Mayor of Batam Muhammda Rudi explained that the land to work on Rempang Eco City is 17,600 hectares. Inside the 17,600 hectares, there are 10,028 hectares of protected forests and 7,572 hectares that will be used by PT Makmur Elok Graha (MEG) to build glass factories and solar panels.

Meanwhile, PT MEG is a colleague of BP Batam and the Batam City Government. In carrying out this investment, PT MEG cooperates with the Xinyi Group, a company from China.

Furthermore, Rudi said BP Batam did not work on the entire land. But only 2,000 hectares for the Xinyi Group with an investment of approximately IDR 172.5 trillion or equivalent to 11.5 billion US dollars.

"So not overall on 17,572 hectares of land completed. But in the near future we have to finish 2.000. So that the order to us is that on September 28 2,000 hectares can be completed, clear," he said in a meeting with Commission VI of the DPR, written Thursday, September 14.

Rudi said there are four villages that will take precedence for relocation. Unfortunately, Rudi did not specify the names of the four villages.

"We prioritize 4 villages, 3 in 2,000 rights and one outside 2,000 hectares because PT MEG wants to build the tower itself," he said.

Rudi said, residents in these four villages will be relocated to the Kitchen Tiga area. The budget needed to build houses and other facilities in the relocation site is IDR 1.6 trillion.

"The fee we need to build relocation in Kitchen Three will be approximately IDR 1.6 trillion," he said.

Furthermore, Rudi said the relocation would use BP Batam funds while waiting for the budget from the APBN worth Rp850 billion to be disbursed.

"For the time being, all of them are still using BP Batam PNBP money, because we have submitted the APBN, it seems that in Banggar we have not been able to accept it, the Rp850 billion while we have not been able to receive it," he said.

Later, said Rudi, BP Batam's mandatory rental or UWT will be obtained from investment in the construction of Rempang Eco City worth IDR 1.4 trillion.

The budget will be used for the welfare of the residents of Pulau Rempang.

"Here we BP Batam can receive rent or UWT Mandatory BP Batam Annual is the calculation per 30 years. If we count from 7,572 hectares, maybe we will get approximately 1.4 trillion," he said.

"This means that what we get from Rempang Island has all been rented, we spend it on building for the sake of the health of the Rempang people," he continued.
