Due To Fatigue, Climber Dies In Bukit Daun Rejang Lebong
REJANG LEBONG - The joint team of Basarnas, TNI/Polri, BPBD Rejang Lebong Regency, Bengkulu Province, managed to evacuate climbers who died on Mount Bukit Daun, Rejang Lebong Regency on Wednesday morning at around 04.30 WIB.
The climber who died on Mount Bukit Daun is known as Mansurudin (50), a resident of Air Meles Atas Village, Selupu Rejang District, Rejang Lebong Regency. The victim died on Tuesday afternoon at around 17.00 WIB and was only successfully evacuated 11 hours later.
"The victim's body after being successfully evacuated by the joint team at around 04.30 WIB was handed over to the family by being taken directly to the funeral home in Air Meles Atas Village," said Bermani Ulu Police Chief Iptu Ibnu Sina Alfarobi, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 13.
He explained that the process of evacuating victims on a mountain with a height of 2,467 meters above sea level lasted quite a long time, considering that the terrain was quite difficult and at night conditions.
The climber who died, he said, when he was about to get off the camp with two of his colleagues right at the Bukit Daun Shelter II, Central Baru Village, Bermani Ulu District.
Meanwhile, the Head of BPBD Rejang Lebong Sholahuddin while at the funeral home explained that the victim was his younger brother who had been known to be a nature lover and often did mountain climbing.
"This victim was successfully evacuated by a joint team of Basarnas, TNI/Polri, the Rejang Lebong BPBD TRC team, Mapala IAIN Curup students and at dawn at around 05.00 WIB," he said.

According to him, his younger brother died while climbing along with two of his friends to Bukit Daun who were suspected of being due to fatigue.
The body of the late Mansurudin, who was a former member of the Rejang Lebong KPU for the period 2008 to 2018, was buried at 09.00 WIB at the TPU, Talang Ulu Village, East Curup District.
