Schedule Of U-17 National Team TC In Germany Shorted, PSSI Chairman: About Weather And Adaptation

JAKARTA - The U-17 Indonesian national team will conduct a training camp (TC) in Germany. However, this agenda will take place shorter than the previous plan.

General Chairperson (Ketum) of the All-Indonesian Football Association (PSSI), Erick Thohir, said this was due to weather factors and adaptation.

Initially, Garuda Muda was scheduled to return from Germany one week before the 2023 U-17 World Cup rolled out. However, the schedule was changed.

Iqbal Gwijangge et al will return to Indonesia two weeks earlier before November 10, 2023.

"The temperature in Germany is quite cold, (average) 19 degrees, therefore they (the U-17 national team squad) returned earlier than before one week (before the U-17 World Cup) to two weeks," said Erick Thohir at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Senayan on Tuesday 12 September.

"It is an effort to adapt again so that they can play well. Do not let the temperature difference be the problem for them to play and even get injured," he continued.

As previously reported, the team brought together were 28 to 34 players who were brought in. During the U-17 national team training camp, the test matches will also be held.

So far there have been about six matches planned, including against Borussia Dortmund and Borussia Monchengladbach.

"For trials in Germany, I heard that there are two national teams and four matches against German League clubs. But of course it is better to announce it by BTN because in the next few days there could be changes," explained Erick.

The U-17 World Cup 2023 will be held on November 10 - December 2 in Indonesia which will be appointed as the host to replace Peru. There are four stadiums designated as venues starting from the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Si Jalak Harupat Stadium Bandung, Manahan Stadium Solo, and Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium Surabaya.
