There Is Ganjar On Azan TV, Minister Of Communication And Information: All Ads Or Campaign Products That Bring Good Peace

JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) Budi Arie Setiadi assessed that the call to prayer broadcast showing Ganjar Pranowo's presidential candidate at a private TV station in Indonesia did not disturb the public.

He even mentioned that as long as it was positively charged, there were no problems that could arise from the burden.

"It's good, everyone who brings peace, whether in advertising or campaign products that bring peace and coolness to the community, is good," Budi said when met in Central Jakarta, Tuesday, September 12, as quoted by Antara.

When asked whether it violated the provisions of the campaign ahead of the 2024 General Election (Pemilu), Budi said it was under the authority of the General Elections Commission (KPU) and the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu).

On the same occasion, the Chairman of the Central Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) Ubaidillah said that his party had processed the findings of the call to prayer content showing one of the presidential candidates ahead of the 2024 General Election.

He revealed that currently his party is still verifying with related broadcasting institutions so that later KPI can take the next steps against the content.

"We are still reviewing it, yesterday we measured the clarification from the broadcaster. Today or tonight we will decide together with all commissioners whether there is potential (violation) or not," said Ubaidillah.

Ubaidillah also promised that all these findings would be submitted to the public without any cover-up facts.

Previously, on Monday, September 11, the Indonesian people were busy talking about the call to prayer content featuring Ganjar Pranowo in a network of private TV broadcasters.

The show raises perception and is associated with identity politics and finally KPI calls the private TV network to clarify.

Deputy Minister of Religion (Wamenag) Saiful Rahmat Dasuki on Tuesday, September 12, also argued that the call to prayer broadcast featuring the future presidential candidate Ganjar Pranowo on private television stations was not an identity politics.

"In my opinion, it's not (identity politics)," said Deputy Minister of Religion Saiful at the Office of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (PMK), Jakarta.

Saiful did not mind Ganjar Pranowo's presence on the call to prayer, because this did not damage the meaning of the call to prayer. It is different if the figure of the presidential candidate uses political attributes, it is included in identity politics.
