Airlangga Tegaskan Golkar Belum Bahas Ridwan Kamil Jadi Cawapres Ganjar

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Golkar Party DPP Airlangga Hartarto emphasized that there has been no discussion regarding the former governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil as a candidate for vice president candidate (cawapres) for the presidential candidate (candidate) Ganjar Pranowo.

Airlangga said the Golkar Party is currently still concentrating on the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM), which will carry the Prabowo Subianto (candidate), together with the National Mandate Party (PAN) and the Gerindra Party.

"That (about Ridwan Kamil's candidate for vice president) has not been discussed," said Airlangga, quoted by ANTARA at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Friday, September 8.

The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs also denied that Ridwan Kamil's statement about the breaking news after he finished serving as regional head of West Java Province was related to the discourse as Ganjar's future companion.

"It has nothing to do with breaking news," added Airlangga.

Asked about the Golkar Party's mandate to Ridwan Kamil for political work, Airlangga said it would be discussed as soon as possible.

However, Airlangga added, currently the Golkar Party is only concentrating on the Advanced Indonesia Coalition with PAN and Gerindra Party to carry Prabowo Subianto.

"Later, we will see (about Ridwan Kamil's political steps). Golkar (still) in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition," he said.

Previously, when the handover of the position of governor of West Java, Ridwan Kamil signaled that there would be new news about him.

"We ask where our destiny goes, we don't know, but God willing, he will give his best; but if next week there is breaking news, yes, please understand. The code is all," said Ridwan Kamil at Gedung Sate, Bandung City, West Java, Tuesday.
