PKB Holds Wali Songo Tour, Anies-Cak Imin Scheduled To Meet At Sunan Ampel Cemetery

JAKARTA - The General Chairperson of the PKB as well as the prospective vice presidential candidate for the Change Coalition for the Association (KPP) Muhaimin Iskandar or Cak Imin along with the ranks will focus spiritually by visiting Wali Songo's grave on September 8-11.

The plan is that Cak Imin will also meet KPP Presidential Candidate Anies Baswedan at the end of the series of pilgrimages to the graves of the guardians.

Chairman of the Tour Committee Wali Songo PKB Cucun Ahmad Sjamsurijal, said this spiritual tour will start with a pilgrimage from Sunan Gunung Jati Cemetery in Cirebon, West Java and is closed with a pilgrimage to the Sunan Ampel Cemetery in Surabaya, East Java.

"Indeed, we have an agenda for the tour and exploration of Wali Songo's struggles that Gus Imin will do with PKB administrators and cadres. This agenda is actually a routine PKB agenda every year. We feel it is important that this spiritual activity be carried out, especially since the political temperature has recently started to warm up," said Cucun at the PKB DPP office, Jakarta, Thursday, September 7.

Cucun said that pilgrimage activities to the graves of auliya and pious people are a tradition that continues to be guarded by the Islamic people of Ahlul Sunah Wal Jamaah. According to him, taking a pilgrimage to the graves of pious people will serve as a reminder of their kindness, struggle and leadership for the sake of religion and state.

"This is a form of PKB and Gus Muhaimin's collaboration in facing the 2024 General Election. This activity is expected to be able to provide enthusiasm and spiritual encouragement so that the Indonesian people are able to pass the democratic party safely and in an orderly manner," said Cucun.

The chairman of the PKB DPP explained that Wali Songo's pilgrimage activities would also be filled with various activities such as the Halaqoh thought of Wali Songo, the people's market, to free health services.

These activities will be carried out at a number of points such as the Sunan Gunung Jati Cirebon Cemetery, Sunan Bonang Cemetery, Tuban, Sunan Drajat Cemetery, Lamongan, and Sunan Ampel Cemetery, Surabaya. This activity will be attended by PKB cadres and sympathizers as well as the wider community.

"This activity will also strengthen how the figure of Gus Muhaimin Iskandar as a student figure. Because he has now become a candidate to run in the 2024 presidential election, he is one of the figures who truly represents the figure of a student," explained the chairman of the PKB faction of the DPR.

Later, continued Cucun, this activity will be ended by the meeting between Anies and Cak Imin who will jointly make a pilgrimage to Sunan Ampel's grave in Surabaya.

"God willing, there we will make a pilgrimage and directly Gus Muhaimin, Mr. Anies will also be pleased to be together at Sunan Ampel for a pilgrimage, pray for the pilgrimage. Bismillah, we will do our best for this nation," said Cucun.

"And God willing, we will mingle with the entire public because it has been declared that there is an Anies-Muhaimin pair," he added.
