Courier 135 Kg Of Cannabis From Aceh Demanded The Death Penalty
The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the North Sumatra High Prosecutor's Office has charged the defendant Putra alias Putra from Aceh with the death penalty in the case of being a narcotics courier of 135 kilograms of marijuana.
"Ask the panel of judges to impose the death penalty on the accused Putra alias Putra," said Public Prosecutor Maria Fr. Br Tarigan at the Medan District Court, North Sumatra, as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, September 7.
He said the defendant Putra violated Article 114 paragraph (2) of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) of the 1st Criminal Code, namely without rights or against the law offering to sell, sell, buy, accept, become intermediaries in buying and selling, exchanging, and handing over narcotics class I of marijuana weighing 135 kilograms.
"The aggravating thing is that the defendant's actions did not participate in the government's program in eradicating drugs and the defendant was convicted of narcotics cases, while there were no mitigating factors," he said.
After the Public Prosecutor Maria read out the memorandum of demand, the panel of judges chaired by Pinta Uli Tarigan continued the trial next week with the agenda of a memorandum of defense (pledoi) against the defendant.
In the indictment, Public Prosecutor Maria said that the defendant Putra alias Putra together with Sabar Hasibuan alias Sabar (separate file) brought dried marijuana to Medan with a salary of Rp. 250 thousand per kilogram from Ipul.
