Fishing Using A Fiber Longboat Number 7, 2 Morotai Jaya Residents Lost
The Ternate Basarnas conducted a search operation for two longboat users on Tuesday, September 5. Both have not returned after going to sea on Sunday, September 3, 2023.
Head of Basarnas Ternate Fathur Rahman explained that the two missing victims went to sea towards the FAD using a longboat on September 3 at around 03.30 WIT. However, until now, both of them have not been identified.
According to the victim's colleague, they did not see the victim's whereabouts around the FAD where the victim was usually looking for fish.
The missing victims were Sukri Soleman (41), a resident of Loleo Village, Morotai Jaya District, North Maluku (Malut) and Yusup Abdurahman (45), from Tomagoba Village, Tidore Islands District.
Both of them, when declared missing, went to sea using a longboat fiber with the characteristics of equipped with two 15 PK machines, 12 meters long and red number 7.
Both were allegedly missing in the waters north of Loleo Village with coordinates 2°42'45.00 "N / 128°36'49.00" E.

The day before, a fisherman from Pandanga Village, Morotai Island Regency named Mahmur Songa (75) was also reported missing while going to sea in the waters of Zum-Zum Island. However, Mahmur was finally found safe.
