Indonesian Pianist Sets World Record at Master Piano Institute
JAKARTA - Indonesia's young talent has again excelled in foreign countries, this time it was inscribed by Jeffri Setiawan who was able to play the piano with his eyes closed non-longest in the world when he collided at the Masterest Institute, Sydney, Australia on August 30, 2023.
The young man who was born on March 2, 2006, managed to break the America Book of Records (ABR) Icon Awards Top Talent of the Year 2023.
The good news from the talented young nationalist from Kendal received appreciation from the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia Sydney, Vedi Kurnia Buana, who he said was very proud and a promotion for Indonesia in Australia.
"We are very proud of the proud achievements of young Indonesian talents who have succeeded in making Indonesia proud in the international arena. This is truly extraordinary, also thanks to this achievement as a bridge of promotion for Indonesia in Australia," said Vedi as quoted by Antara, Thursday, August 31.
This achievement also invites the emotion of all Academics Civitas, Faculty of Medicine, Gunadarma University.
"I am very proud, because Jefri is an FK UG student, managed to break the record because this success not only broke world records for Indonesia, but also recorded a new history in the international world," said Gunadarma University Chancellor Prof. Dr. ES Margianti, SE., MM.
Of course, it is not an easy effort for Jefri to be able to record a number of world records, because Jefri conducts routine exercises for 8-10 hours every day with his eyes closed.
"Actually, my toughest challenge in breaking this record is excellent physical readiness and having to memorize it with the order of 170 songs by closing my eyes. During the practice I only closed my eyes, without closing my eyes with a cloth," said the young man who started his world achievement in 2018.

Jefri managed to collect a number of world-class achievements. He is the holder of 6 world records, namely memorizing 170 songs based on the order not to overturn using piano and closed eyes for six hours non-stop.
Not to mention that in March 2021 Jefri managed to play 150 songs with a piano for about 3 hours 45 minutes with his eyes closed and recorded in two world record books at once, namely the America Book of Records and the European Records Book.
The 17-year-old also succeeded in making his name on the prestigious world record of the Royal Success International Book of Records (RSBIR) for the Memorizing Songs While Playing air, Blindfolded, Non-Stop which was held in Hyderabad, India, on February 29, 2020. As well as on October 24, 2018, Jefri also played piano by bringing as many as 100 songs with closed eyes for 3.5 hours in a row, held at the Acade f\"ur K\"unste ASK-Berlin, Germany. Recorded in the Record Holders Republic (RHR) world record.
