The ASEAN Energy Center And ACCECC Management Agency Will Establish ASEAN-Chinese Clean Energy Cooperation Centers

JAKARTA - The ASEAN Center for Energy (ACE) and the ASEAN-China Clean Energy Cooperation Center (ACCECC) of the Managing Agency are working together to increase clean energy cooperation between the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the People of the Republic of China.

This collaboration marks an important milestone in efforts to achieve sustainable energy solutions in the region.

The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by Dr. Nuki Agya Utama, Executive Director of ACE with Liang Yuteng, Deputy Director General of the Chinese Hainan Development and Reform Commission and Dr Li Sheng, Director General of China's Institute of Renewable Energy Engineering on behalf of the ACCECC Implementing Agency on August 25, 2023, at the 41st ASEAN Minister of Energy Meeting (AMEM-41) held in Bali, Indonesia, to coincide with the 2023 ASEAN Energy Business Forum (AEBF).

Dr. Nuki Agya Utama, Executive Director of ACE, expressed his optimism for this collaboration.

"This strategic partnership between ACE and the ACCECC Affairs Managing Agency is a significant step forward in our joint mission to accelerate the development of clean energy. By utilizing our expertise and resources, we are ready to have a meaningful impact on the energy landscape in the ASEAN and China region," he said in a written statement, Tuesday, August 29.

ACE's main goal is to accelerate the integration of harmonious energy strategies in ASEAN member states. By providing important information and expertise, ACE ensures that energy policies and programs are aligned, underlining the Central's commitment to forming an energy landscape in the region.

The ACCECC Affairs Management Agency, founded by the National Energy Administration (NEA) of China and the Hainan Government with the support of China's Institute of Renewable Energy Engineering (CREEI), serves as a technical and operational backbone. The agency is dedicated to strengthening the clean energy collaboration between China and ASEAN countries, as well as functioning as an implementation unit and secretariat of the ASEAN-Chinese Clean Energy Cooperation Center (ACCECC) from a Chinese point of view. Both ACE and the ACCECC Affairs Managing Agency are excited to start collaborative travel towards a sustainable energy future. Through the establishment of the ASEAN-Chingk Clean Energy Cooperation Center, they are ready to usher in a new era of environmentally friendly energy solutions, fostering long-term partnerships that will reshape the energy landscape in the ASEAN and China regions.
