Mayor Of Bima Reportedly Becomes A Suspect, Golkar Waits For KPK Announcement
JAKARTA - The Golkar Party is still waiting for an official announcement from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) regarding the legal status of the Mayor of Bima, NTB, Muhammad Lutfi. This regional head is suspected of being involved in allegations of corruption related to the procurement of goods and services as well as gratuities.
"Of course we have to check first," said Golkar DPP chairman Tb Ace Hasan Syadzily to reporters, Tuesday, August 29.
Ace said this official announcement was important. The goal is to ensure whether there is legal assistance that will be given to Muhammad Lutfi.
"There must be an official announcement from the KPK regarding the determination of the suspect from the Mayor of Bima and we are waiting for what cases are being faced," he said.
Previously, KPK investigators searched a number of places in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Tuesday, August 29. One of the rooms visited by investigators was the office of the Mayor of Bima M. Lutfi.
The information circulating Lutfi is one of the parties involved in the new investigation.
"There is a KPK team in Bima City carrying out evidence collection activities," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Tuesday, August 29.
