DPR Calls Persecution to Death by TNI Personnel Disgraceful
JAKARTA - Member of Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) from the Golkar Party faction, Dave Laksono, said that the actions of three members of the Indonesian Military (TNI) who were named suspects after allegedly extorting and abusing a young man from Aceh named Imam Masykur to death, were very shameful. Moreover, the TNI personnel served as Paspampres who were supposed to protect citizens.
"A shameful act," he told reporters, Monday, August 28.
Dave considered that the three Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel had violated their oath as soldiers. Where should provide a sense of security for residents, but quite the opposite.
"They have been sworn in and trained and are also funded by the state with tax proceeds to protect the public, not to extort and end in murder," said Dave.
Therefore, the chairman of the Central Executive Board (DPP) Golkar Party asked the TNI to thoroughly investigate the purpose of the three individuals to extort victims. He hoped that the investigation into the extortion case that led to torture until the Imam died would be carried out openly.
"On what basis can they do this? Is it due to economic necessity or is there pressure or a request from superiors. This must be investigated so that the problem is immediately corrected and changed whatever has been an obstacle so far," he concluded.
It is known that a young man from Bireuen, Aceh, Imam Masykur died after being kidnapped and abused by a member of the Paspampres with the initials Praka RM and two of his colleagues.
The perpetrator's motive for doing this heinous thing was because he asked for a ransom from the victim's family. The perpetrator demanded a ransom of IDR 50 million so that the victim would be released. However, the family was only able to provide IDR 13 million.
