Holds Coordination Meeting, South Sumatra OKU Prosecutor's Office Anticipates Sesat Flow Teachings

SOUTH SUMATRA - The District Attorney's Office (Kejari) of Ogan Komering Ulu Regency (OKU) anticipates the teaching of heretical sects in the area which can disrupt peace and endanger the community.

OKU Chief Prosecutor Choirun Parapat said that as an effort to anticipate his party to hold a Coordination Meeting (rakor) for Supervision of Religious and Religious Flows in the Community (Pakem) involving a number of religious organizations, religious leaders and related agencies in the region.

"We want to anticipate the flow of trust and religion that could endanger society and the state," he said in Baturaja, South Sumatra (Sumsel), Friday, August 25, which was confiscated by Antara.

The activity was carried out to prevent irregularities in the flow of trust and blasphemy in the OKU Regency area.

According to him, efforts to anticipate the existence of heretical sects need to be carried out as early as possible so as not to pose a threat of obstacles and challenges that disturb the community.

Through this coordination meeting, it is hoped that it can formulate anticipatory strategic steps in order to prevent the flow of beliefs, religious sects that can cause unrest in the community and can tarnish the teachings of religion that we believe in.

"We must also anticipate the development of a growing flow of trust that is not structured, for example through social media," he said.

The chairman of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) of OKU Regency, Admiati Somad, welcomed the Pakem meeting which was expected to create peace and peace for the people in his area.

According to him, these activities can minimize religious irregularities and the flow of trust in OKU Regency.

"We really welcome this activity. Indeed, so far at OKU there has been no conflict of belief and religion. However, it must be anticipated as early as possible," he said.
