Waskita Karya Escapes From Bankruptcy, Here's The Response Of The Special Staff Of The Minister Of SOEs
PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk escaped the bankruptcy trap after the judges of the Central Jakarta District Court decided to reject the request to postpone debt payment obligations (PKPU).
As is known, Waskita Karya was sued by one of the holders of Shelf-Registered Bonds III Phase II of 2018, namely Donny Hartanto Lasmana. This lawsuit was registered at the Central Jakarta District Court on Monday 26 June 2023 with case number 185/Pdt.Sus-PKPU/2023/PN Niaga Jkt.Pst.
Responding to this, the Special Staff (Staffsus) of the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Arya Sinulingga admitted that he had predicted that Waskita would win the PKPU and escape the snares of bankruptcy.
"The case is like that expected, it must be like that. As I said, Waskita's assets are actually enough to overcome everything. So if it's for bankruptcy, no," he said at the Ministry of SOEs, Jakarta, Friday, August 25.
Furthermore, Arya also said that Waskita was ready to face the PKPU again.
"Yes, just face it. This means that everything is in process," he said.

Arya said, Waskita will negotiate with the debtors. He said, negotiations would be carried out fairly.
Negotiations with all debtors and debtors are all negotiated so that everything is positioned in a fair, fair condition. So when banks are postponed, others are also postponed. That's what the existing debtors asked for, so the same treatment," he said.
