The Smuggling Of 5.6 Kg Of Marijuana From Jayapura Waters To Manokwari Was Thwarted By The Police
PAPUA - Police thwarted the smuggling of 5.6 kilograms of dried marijuana from Jayapura, Papua Province to Manokwari in West Papua. The smuggler by sea with the initials IP was secured.
"The perpetrator was arrested Thursday (August 24) afternoon when he arrived at Manokwari Port," said Head of Public Relations of the West Papua Police, Police Commissioner Adam Erwindi in Manokwari, Friday, August 25, as quoted by Antara.
He explained that the Drug Opsnal Team Unit 3 of the West Papua Police received information regarding efforts to smuggle marijuana from the public.
The police immediately moved to the port before the ship carrying the perpetrator arrived at Manokwari Port.
"After receiving information on illicit drug trafficking, the Opsnal Team immediately moved," explained Adam Erwindi.
He said the perpetrators arrived at Manokwari Port using KM Ciremai at around 18.00 WIT, and were immediately detained by the police.
After the examination, it was found that the marijuana-type drugs were stored by the perpetrators in three bags.
"There are two aluminum bales and 202 clear plastics filled with dried marijuana ready for distribution," said Adam Erwindi.

Currently, he said, the perpetrators have been detained at the West Papua Police Detention Center for further investigation.
The police continue to develop so that the case of smuggling 5.6 kilograms of marijuana from Jayapura can be fully revealed.
"The perpetrator has been detained at the Polda detention center so that the examination runs smoothly," said Adam.
