Kia EV5 The Younger Brother Of EV9 Is Ready To Rock The Market

JAKARTA - Kia, one of the main players in the electric vehicle industry, currently features its newest model, Kia EV5, at the Chengdu automotive exhibition in China, today, August 25. Although most of the information disclosed at the exhibition is only about car design, complete technical specifications will be announced closer to launch.

This car was first introduced in the form of a near-production concept earlier this year, and a leaked image of a production car recently provided powerful clues about its design and position in the market. Interestingly, although the price has not yet been released, it is believed that Kia EV5 also positions as a smaller version of EV9 at a more affordable price.

The design of Kia EV5 is clearly inspired by its flagship car, EV9, or arguably a smaller version of EV9, seen from an upright silhouette with a boxy concept, a strong lower body layer, and a distinctive alloy rim design. The car also adopts a front design with the hallmarks of an aggressive 'tiger nose' and sharp backline, which is a distinctive signature of Kia's electric car lineup.

Kia claims EV5 is a combination of changing designs, extraordinary flexibility, and extraordinary comfort or balanced vehicles for everything. Kia's ambition to EV5 can outperform the aesthetics received from the present compact SUV sector.

The salient features of the design, according to Kia, are the more back-friendly pillars of D by underlining the more space available in rear seats and baggage. Meanwhile, the back wing will increase aerodynamic efficiency while signaling EV5 status as a revolutionary electric vehicle.

The interior of this car is designed by considering the wishes of millennials who consider their electric SUV interior not only as a safe and comfortable seat when traveling from A to B, but also as a special space to live life.

The dashboard, steering wheel, and entertainment packages appear to be mostly taken from EV9, with a circular digital panel where the driver and center touch screen display is located, as well as a number of physical buttons maintained for core functions.
