JAKARTA - The 2023 Badminton World Championship has entered its third day. There are 10 Indonesian representatives who will work today at the Royal Arena Copenhagen, Denmark, Wednesday, August 23.
The world number one men's doubles, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, will be one of the representatives of Merah Putih who will appear. They will meet Lee Jhe Huei/Yang Po Hsuan from Taiwan.
Fajar/Rian's first step is predicted to be smooth considering that the Indonesian duo has a better tournament record than the 21st ranked pair.
In addition, Fajar/Rian also has a record that has not been broken against Lee/Yang by sweeping all the wins from the previous four meetings which were completed in two straight games.
Apart from Fajar/Rian, Indonesia's representatives who are also predicted to qualify for the next round are Rehan Naufal Kusharjanto/Lisa Ayu Kusumawati. They will face German representatives Jones Ralfy Jansen/Linda Effler.
Today's match will be the second match for the two pairs. Rehan/Lisa armed with a winning record from the inaugural match that took place at All England 2023 in Birmingham, England, March.
However, it is difficult to predict that Gregoria Mariska Tunjung will experience the opening match. The Indonesian women's singles will meet the unseeded player from Singapore, Yeo Jia Min.
