The Possibility Of Mason Greenwood's New Club After Separating From Manchester United: Join Steven Gerrard To Saudi Arabia Or Reunion With Jose Mourinho
JAKARTA - Mason Greenwood has officially separated from Manchester United. Now, the young English player is looking for a new port.
Reportedly, Greenwood will fly to Saudi Arabia to join Al-Ettifaq. He reportedly got a 10 million deal with Steven Gerrard's side.
Gerrard has denied this news, which calls this fake news. However, the possibility remains.
Another Saudi club is also considering moving the 21-year-old after Manchester United announced he would leave, The Sun said.
Apart from Saudi Arabian clubs, Greenwood is also likely to reunite with Jose Mourinho. Currently, Mourinho is coaching Serie A club, Italy, AS Roma.
Turkish giant Galatasaray and Istanbul Baskasehir are also interested. In fact, both of them contacted MU before the decision to part with Greenwood was announced.
As reported, the club nicknamed the Red Devils has reached a "collaborative decision" with the player for him to move. But the club did not say whether his contract worth 75,000 per week would be terminated or whether he would be loaned or sold.
They now have to fight to get rid of Greenwood in just ten days or face millions of dollars in losses.
If MU hasn't sold or loaned him on September 1 when the summer transfer window closes, they may have to pay millions of dollars to cancel his contract which expires in 2025.
They could only exceed the deadline if Greenwood was recruited by a Saudi Arabian club because their transfer window closed on September 20.
But Roma also cannot be ruled out as a potential competitor for Greenwood's signing, according to talkSPORT.
The Sun revealed Mourinho called Greenwood last July to ask about his loan to Rome. A source said at the time, Jose called Mason's father and also spoke to the player.
