Hutama Karya Immediately Builds A Phase II Trans Sumatra Toll Road For 30.57 Kilometers
JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero)/Hutama Karya (HK) will soon build the Phase II Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) or the Rengat-Pekanbaru toll road section of the Pekanbaru Ring Road (Pekanbaru Weekunction-Bypass Pekanbaru) for 30.57 km.
Director of Operations III HK Koentjoro in his statement, in Pekanbaru, Monday, August 21, explained that the construction of this toll road will be connected to three sections of JTTS, namely the Rengat-Pekanbaru toll road, Pekanbaru-Bangkinang section, and the Trans Sumatra backbone of Pekanbaru-Dumai section.
"The signing of the project contract will be carried out at the end of August or early September 2023, hopefully, by connecting the connectivity of toll road infrastructure, it can stimulate economic growth and Riau Province to become the epicenter of Sumatra," he said, quoted from Antara.
Koentjoro said the toll road targeted for completion and operation by the end of 2024, could also increase the flow of goods and services distribution services from West Sumatra to Riau.
In addition, to unravel congestion in Pekanbaru City, because logistics vehicles from West Sumatra to North Sumatra have been able to directly toll-to-toll, as well as facilitate connectivity to various tourism places such as Muara Takus Temple.
Deputy I of the Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP) Febry Calvin explained that currently the land acquisition process is being carried out by the Ministry of ATR/BPN together with the Ministry of PUPR and local governments.
"Not only supporting logistics distribution, this toll road can also support community mobility," said Febry.
The contractor for the construction of this toll road is appointed as a subsidiary of Hutama Karya, namely PT Hutama Karya Infrastruktur (HKI) with a job scope including the construction of excavations and piles of roads, bridges, Pekanbaru junctions, rest areas and toll gates.

Meanwhile, the structure facilities that will complement this toll road include 3 underpasses, 6 overpasses, 3 interchanges, 3 toll gates, and 1 pair of rest area type A.
The construction of this toll road will also be supported by a number of digital construction uses, including Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) to obtain accurate measurement results, complete construction time and quality results.
Meanwhile, to overcome the challenges of soft soil, in the implementation of project work, it will use Prefabricated Vertical Drain (PVD) and Preloading technology on the structure of the pile Slab construction on soft soil with a depth of more than 10 m.
