A Total Of 5,575 Prisoners In Aceh Get Remissions During The 78th Anniversary Of The Republic Of Indonesia
JAKARTA - The Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkumham) of Aceh Province stated that 5,575 prisoners who served sentences at correctional institutions and state detention centers in the province received remissions in the context of the 78th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence.
The symbolic handover of remission decrees was centered at the Class IIA Banda Aceh Correctional Institution (Lapas) in Lambaro, Aceh Besar District, Thursday, August 17.
The remission decision letter was handed over by Acting Governor of Aceh Achmad Marzuki. Also attended by Wali Nanggroe Aceh Malik Mahmud and elements of the Aceh Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).
Daily Task Force of the Aceh Province Kemenkumham Regional Office Lilik Sujandi said of the 5,575 inmates who received remission reductions, three other inmates were immediately released/
"Remissions or reduced sentences are given between one and six months. Meanwhile, there are three recipients of general remission or direct release," said Lilik Sujandi, quoted from Antara.
Of the 5,575 prisoners who received the first general remission, 798 of them received a reduced sentence of one month. Then, 1,176 inmates received two months of remission.
Next, there were 1,605 recipients of three months remission, 1,306 recipients of four months remission, 539 recipients of five months remission and 171 recipients of six months remission.
"Based on the crime, there were 2,520 narcotics convicts who received remissions, 49 corruption crimes, and a convict of a criminal act of trafficking in persons," he said.

Lilik Sujandi said that of the 18 prisons and eight state detention centers (rutan) in Aceh, the most inmates received remissions, namely Banda Aceh Class IIA Prison with 432 people.
Then, Meulaboh Class IIB Prison as many as 423 people, and Langsa Class IIB Narcotics Prison as many as 412 people, Class IIA Lhokseumawe Prison 343 people, Class IIB Langsa Prison as many as 329 people, and Class IIB Kuala Simpang Prison as many as 306 people.
"Remissions are given to prisoners with good behavior, not serving disciplinary sentences in the last six months, having served more than six months in prison, and participating in coaching programs with good predicates," said Lilik Sujandi.
