Jokowi Will Continue Electric Vehicle Incentives in 2024
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) emphasized his commitment to encouraging the use of electric vehicles in society. To accelerate this, Jokowi will resume electric vehicle incentives in 2024.
Furthermore, Jokowi said that this series of incentives was also prepared to encourage the battery-based electric vehicle (KBLBB) ecosystem.
"The government is introducing a series of incentives directed both from the supply and demand sides to stimulate investment and use of electric vehicles by the wider community," said Jokowi, in a State Budget Draft (RAPBN) speech at the DPR Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Wednesday, August 16.
For your information, this sector is one of Jokowi's efforts to strengthen downstream natural resources (SDA) owned by Indonesia.
“Fiscal support has been provided in the form of tax incentives and various other fiscal incentives. So far, support has been given to the development of Battery-Based Electric Motorized Vehicles (KBLBB)," he said.

Jokowi said, this is to accelerate economic transformation to create high added value, expand employment opportunities, and use environmentally friendly energy so as to reduce emissions, as well as efficiency in energy subsidies.
"Support for the development of the KBLBB industrial ecosystem is also carried out in many countries such as the United States, Europe, China, and several of our neighboring countries such as Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia," he said.
