Minister Of Trade Zulhas Puji Muhammadiyah Presents Quality Education
JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan appreciated Muhammadiyah's consistency in educating the nation through formal education. According to him, by continuing to increase and facilitate access to education for the community, Muhammadiyah plays a significant role in presenting a quality generation.
"Basic laws and regulations, the state must protect, improve and educate the nation. So education is indeed the responsibility of the state, but the government is not alone in carrying out this task. One of them is the implementation of education by Muhammadiyah," he said in a written statement during the groundbreaking of the Muhammadiyah engineering school in Cileungsi.
Zulhas, Zulkifli Hasan's nickname, explained that the existence of educational institutions is the spearhead in state development efforts through the presence of a superior generation. He said the government supports and encourages discussions to improve the quality of education, empowerment, and economic development of the people.
"I also continue to encourage Muhammadiyah schools to present shops/warung in the school environment as a tangible form of community economic empowerment. The Ministry of Trade is ready to facilitate schools, including cooperation with modern retailers in order to get a supply of goods at competitive prices," he said.

The Trade Minister revealed that traditional shops/warungs are a form of people's economic strength and have a significant impact on welfare. To make it happen, collaboration of various parties is needed. For example between the government, modern retail, and educational institutions.
He is optimistic that the synergy between the government and Muhammadiyah can create an advanced Indonesia, especially in the field of education, and in line with Indonesia's 2045 vision.
"I hope today's event will be one of the right means of synergizing in facing increasingly complex and dynamic challenges in the future," he concluded.
