KPK Opens Opportunity To Snatch Anyone Who Helps Paulus Tannos Change Identity
JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ensures that anyone who participates in assisting the suspect in the corruption case of procuring an Electronic ID card or e-KTP, Paulus Tannos, changes the identity will be snared. They are considered to have thwarted the arrest of a fugitive because of his actions. "If from the side of whether it obstructs the investigation process, in fact the investigative team cannot bring the person concerned even if it is already in hand," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, August 10. Ali said that the KPK team had actually found Paulus in a neighboring Indonesian country. However, he could not be arrested because his identity was different. In fact, when the team did a matching of the characteristics to the face of the person found was in accordance with the fugitive he was chasing. But, the KPK had to bite its finger because Paulus had changed its citizenship and name. "Because indeed the name is different, the nationality we visited, of course the state authority we visited and when making arrests it did not allow us to bring him," he explained. Furthermore, this finding also made the KPK suspicious of the party in the country. "Is there other parties who deliberately changed their name and included changing it was also done in the country, that we will continue to investigate," said Ali. Previously, the KPK revealed that Paulus Tannos no longer holds an Indonesian passport. He is now a state in South Africa and has a different name. As a reminder, the KPK is not only pursuing Paulus Tannos. Currently, other fugitives are being chased.
